It’s preemptive to say Framework can compare - they were founded 3 years ago (2020). 5+ years for OP, but many people have their mac laptops last well over a decade.

Ultimately there are no proven laptops as good as mac’s build quality; Apple’s competitors go for cheaper prices with windows OS (or very cheap chrome books). Due to a lack of a large market looking for overpriced windows laptops, few if any high build quality win laptops exist.

It’s not far fetched to say so. Apple doesn’t fight for ‘privacy’ for ethical reasons - they do it because it helps their stock price. Similar to how a company being woke will gain them profits
