Ouch, stalked my profile for your response here. And its not even true.
But yea, calling me out for complaining when your whole post is a complaint. Good job. You are definitely part of the reason I dont participate much on lemmy.

I get the sense that it’s really not about people having leftist or non American points of views removed, but that people are sick of the extreme shit they post and their attitudes. And it’s seemingly entire instances dedicated to being that extreme, not just some individual users.
Personally though, since users have the tools now to block instances, I don’t think there’s really as much of a need to defederate unless the instance is specifically doing something more than just posting their views. So I agree with you there. Except that having to go out of your way to block stuff like that makes for an experience that isn’t always great. And for me it’s been something that doesn’t really make me want to participate or use the platform much.
This is my biggest issue with lemmy. The userbase is not particularly one I want to interact with or even read their comments most of the time. And it seems there is very little room for nuance or any real differing opinions. And worse, it seems most here are convinced they are correct (though that could be everywhere). There are a few niche communities devoid of that, but they are so small that there is either very little content or the same handful of people are doing all the posting.
Love the idea of lemmy as an alternative to reddit. In practice, it’s absolutely not a place I want to fully spend my time.
So they can make money off it just in case?
Look out!
Then the ninjas jump out of the tree.
Or maybe they are and you just don’t like how they are voting.
I’m not saying that’s actually the case, but that point of view always seems to be absent from these types of discussions.
That is true, and you can get USBC dac cables for existing headphones that have the ability to swap cables.
But it’s still yet another thing you have to buy when your existing stuff already worked fine, and it still ties up the USBC port so unless you wirelessly charge you still need an adapter.
It’s just less convenient and as far as I am concerned removing the jack has offered no benefits to consumers.
Because they removed something that was convenient to try and force people to either spend more money on adapters or buy Bluetooth headphones.
And if you need to charge at the same time? That’s yet another adapter.
Soon there will be a new fee, the “listing fees fee”
You would honestly probably be fine after a short while with lower frame rates. Guaranteed you used to game at those slower frame/refresh rates and never knew better.
I absolutely agree there’s still benefit to be had above 60, but 60 is still mostly fine. Unless I guess all you do is ultra competitive gaming where twitch reactions are necessary.
