Remember at one time the West was afraid to supply jet fighters and tanks to Ukraine. If Putin realizes the West is afraid of nuclear weapons, then he will threaten to use them every time the West wants to give Ukraine an edge. Of course, some caution is necessary. That’s the reason in my proposal only the UK and France would supply troops. If too many European countries join, Putin will say he must use nuclear weapons because he is being overwhelmed.

The European Alliance would be a formidable deterrent to Russia starting a war in 5 to 10 years.
Unless Putin is losing, he won’t agree to a peace deal. The entry of the UK and France into the war would make Putin face the possibility of losing.
You’re assuming a rational actor. Putin isn’t a rational actor, a rational actor wouldn’t have started this war.
