I'd exchange Reddit and X. The rate at which X is going downhill right now just cannot be beaten by anything.

Twitter(/X - such a bullshit crappy name) is the Kmart of web 2.0 companies. Just a husk of what it was and in a massive free fall decline.

Yeah the thing that people are upset about reddit for with rate limited apps is something twitter did years ago. Then theres the everything else involved on twitter and its not even close.

Does this reflect how the platform is actually doing or do we just like the circlejerk of wishing they would fail? Because everything I've seen says Reddit has been completely unaffected by the changes made and they're still getting more user signups, engagements and interaction/posts than ever.

Tik Tok also seems to be growing strong.

Twitter is a genuine laughing stalk and is pulling major shit…but everyone still seems to be using it regularly.

    There's metagame factors to this.

Reddit users often hate Reddit but feel stuck in it without alternatives that they can accept.

Twitter (it's not X, fuck that silly aging "peaked in the XTREME 90s" divorce dad nonsense, I hope he cries more about it ![billionaire-tears](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/515f168f-0730-4382-91cf-57d93721b477.png "emoji billionaire-tears") ) has lost a lot of users and the ones that are left are devoted cultists that pay money for relevance symbols on their accounts. ![blue-check](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/d5af5b67-8b43-450d-b510-4752979e3b64.png "emoji blue-check") ![farquaad-point](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/0b72940d-3070-40a3-a37c-3ba5a0abf658.png "emoji farquaad-point")

TikTok has people that are hooked on the algorithm to the point that they may not bother even participating in any such survey because it isn't on TikTok.

I feel like unity is the most likely to die. Their users are way more likely to switch to an alternative than people using reddit

Unity alternatives are also way more known than reddit or twitter alternatives

But the alternatives aren't as developed. Godot still isn't great for 3D projects and Unreal is Epic and also has royalty fees like Unity tried to add.

Unreal only has a 5% fee on games that made over 1 million USD

Unity wanted to add a 0.20 USD tax for every download after you made 200K USD 200K users(which changes depending on how many downloads your game has and which plan you are using)

Units pricing method could have been easily exploited, game developers would have to pay for people pirating their games, if a free to play game reached those requirments, it could cost them more than the game made, giveaways would cost game developers money and all unity games would have to collect data

China makes a statement that celebrates whenever something bad happens in the USA. The CCP are very much opposed to the USA. They're also in constant territory disputes with neighboring nations and have recently consumed neighboring nations. TikTok is not a private or public company. It is a military Operation. It is run by military personnel on a military site.

Right, that would make a lot of sense to do about the country that's openly hostile to you. Oh, China has territory disputes with neighbors? The US will literally fucking bomb you to nothing for your oil, and/or stage a false flag coup to overthrow your government if they won't sell them oil. We have also used corporate espionage to rewrite the laws of several South American countries into ineffectiveness, for the benefit of a fruit company. The two are not remotely comparable on foreign policy.

Everything wrong with the USA is worse with China, because China is a literal Militaristic Dictatorship. Kill you for Oil? Check. Genocide? Check. Disappeared by the Intelligence Agency? Check. Internment camps? Sweatshops? Stealing people's land? Taking away their rights and means of defense both physical and legal? China is worse in every imaginable category.

And that makes sense. When society fails to govern itself, then the government treats society like worms. China is an end all threat to all of humanity, itself included.

China is actively supplying Middle Eastern Nations the same as the USA, and they also claim complete control over Taiwan. They're also funding the Russia-Ukraine war by stockpiling massive amounts of oil from Russia. I think that more than qualifies the "kill you for oil" statement.

No, it doesn't. Taiwan seceded from them, they aren't trying to colonize it. America bombing Iraq and destabilizing SA governments is killing for oil. Buying oil from Russia is not that.

It's a Dictatorship's Military Operation. The app's software is more data theft than it is actually used to run the app. They take everything stored on your device, from photos to text history. All of it. If I were to rate all apps on the basis of harm, Tiktok is miles above anything else.

Heres a fun thought, you acknowledge that the App does have that data collection software as it has been proven by many independent software reviews, so is it worth it for a person, no matter what other country they come from, to betray their own nation's people and create security risks in order to view and post vines with music?

How does having one party rob the country of having a democracy. Democracies dont have to be your shitty splintered capitalist infighting mess you call governments. Not president for life, he can still be democratically removed from office, he just has no term limits. I think no term limits is more democratic anyway.

Heres a fun thought, you acknowledge that the App does have that data collection software as it has been proven by many independent software reviews, so is it worth it for a person, no matter what other country they come from, to betray their own nation’s people and create security risks in order to view and post vines with music?

So what, anything that would damage the US is good, I don't care lol. Also the software may be in part owned by china, but the heads of the western tiktok division are made up of US national security "retirees" lol.

Having an actual dictator who can only be removed by his close peers makes China a lot more of an Oligopoly than a Communism, my dude. I think by strict definitions the USA is probably more socialist than the CCP.
