(r/indiadiscussion isn’t meta only anymore but if one trawls through the old posts, assuming they aren’t deleted, one can see the breadth of bans from r/india)

It’s r/indiaspeaks that was originally formed as a free speech bastion that turned rightwing because the main sub was staunchly on the opposite side of the spectrum(and loved to use the banhammer).

I don’t think I can link usernames here but a notorious powermod of r/india used to moderate r/worldnews as well and banning from once meant ban from the other.

Some internet banking sites give access after only asking for login password. They will only ask for transaction password and OTP (that will only come on phone) later on. Asking for two passwords isn’t necessarily more secure since many people will just reuse their original one again. And OTP instead of offering something like hardware security key is insane.

I read the conversation and someone should put logic into the guy’s head who claims that British industrialised India. I have Amazon Prime as part of Prime Unlimited but holy Christ, have I never gotten their web app to stream in Linux. As long as greediness on part of these lousy corporations live on, piracy would remain the only true option.

I haven’t been banned from Reddit till now though if we are talking of different social media, does LinkedIn count? They wanted me to prove that I am a real person one day and upload some verification document/proof for that. I was running LinkedIn without any profile image and hardly ever opened it. One day I suddenly made couple of comments for first time and next day, came the hammer.

HowtoGeek used to be a legitimately good site back in the day but now has a proliferation of low quality articles. Also, uBlock Origin by default blocks it’s links sometimes since they redirect via awstrack.me as well.
