Google is run by assholes and fools. They should be broken apart.

Interesting. Bundles of this size are a little overwhelming for me- anyone want to call out what they think are the highlights of what’s included?

Capitalism. The minority of people own stuff and call the shots.
I personally think a short copyright might be acceptable. A couple years. And following that open use with attribution.
It was a quick and easy way for cops to hit their quota, even if the DA didn’t end up prosecuting
I feel like if that sort of thing happens, you should be paid extravagantly. None of this “okay you can go” business after you’ve been fucked around.

Unpopular opinion: Masculinity doesn’t exist. There’s feminine things and then there’s everything else.
This seems to be a roundabout way of coming upon the idea of, like, defaults and privilege. Like how people will say the there’s “sexual orientations: straight and political”

It didn’t just happen like the stars moving overhead. People with names and bones did it.

Most Republicans value in-group solidarity more than things like justice or truth. So no, not unless Trump somehow becomes out-group.
Maybe if we start a conspiracy that he’s actually Jewish… No, that’s like trying to use The One Ring.

I have to admit I was wrong - a shit-load of google docs are also visible on search. I wasn’t aware it works this way. That’s really bad. I found so many people’s resumes!

Does it say they posted it on the Internet?
Google Docs has a “anyone with a link” sharing option. I would not expect setting that and texting my friend the link to result in the document contents being indexed for searches.

I would not assume “anyone with a link” includes people who do not have the link.

It’s funny because people who have never been to New Jersey aside from like an airport or maybe the Secaucus train station will shit on it. Meanwhile, they’re from like bottom-of-the-barrel Mississippi or something.
I dunno, I’ve always felt negatively about, like, unoriginal things people just repeat to feel like part of the group.
Unfortunately, the idea of “then we go into the board room and execute all those assholes” has a certain emotional appeal that’s absent from “we’ll boycott, vote, run better candidates”.
More active resistance like strikes or blocking production are a little more poetic, but tend to draw violence

Neat.
Also when you scroll down on the page, the background gets more red. Is that a subtle “we’re turning more communist” joke? (Ok, it says linear-gradient(180deg,#e2f3ff,#ffecd9), which isn’t really red)

Conservatives value in-group solidarity more than almost anything else. Feels good in their brain.
You’d probably be an asshole too if you came a little every time you yielded to authority. That’s how their brains work.

It was never going to work out in favor of consumers.
Also fuck Microsoft. At the very least they should be broken up.

We are lead by the emotions of idiots, and the greed of monsters.
We have leadership who do not understand how work gets done. They don’t do work like their employees do. They don’t code or do code reviews.

What makes me even angrier is how easily everyone accepted it. We could have pushed back. We could have simply continued doing our jobs from home, they can’t fire everyone. Instead, people just complained but complied.
This also frustrates me.
There’s no labor organization or solidarity here. Some people are afraid they’ll lose their job and then suffer. That’s a real fear, because this is the bad place
But some people are just spineless
Does it really matter in a development enviroment?
Yes 100%. There’s a good chance whatever you’re working on with be on Linux, so being on windows locally is just an extra layer for problems to manifest. Plus windows is just weird compared to everything else.
I don’t want to fuss with the OS. I just want the basics like ~, cat, grep, curl, etc to work. I don’t want OneDrive. You can go get tooling to make windows more linux-like but, like, why half ass it.
With containers I guess it matters less. You could have a Windows host and Linux container, and probably not cause any problems with case folding or line feeds, but again: why half ass it.
Do you do software development work?
ICE and all of their supporters need to go.
