But even for Iraq, no one is making calculations on what’s good for the military industrial complex - they’re guessing on if the cost of human life is worth the human lives saved and suffering prevented, and yes “spreading democracy”. We can certainly mock it now, and talk about the WMD justification proving false, but the idea of going to war to somehow make money is insane. War is a net negative (look up broken window theory) and everyone in government knows it. The point of war is to change the global order, not pad pocketbooks, and effecting global change still would be the point even if it worked for making money - which it doesn’t.

Fair enough (it was actually way more countries, because I found that the study they quoted quoted a study, so it included Spain, Portugal, others except the UK and Nordic countries), though the study I linked to actually found 2 cases in the “alternative” keeping of hens compared to zero in battery cages. Wasn’t statistically significant, but still the point is the washing and refrigeration of eggs greatly lowers the chance of salmonella risk. Animal welfare is sort of a separate issue, though at least it’s getting addressed in the EU.

Festool: Beautiful, absolutely dripping with wealth signals. Still pretty amazing at what they do, but you might not want them on a job site = Beauxbatons (super wealthy French school)

Harbor freight: Simple, potentially the most powerful but also likely to break. Can probably accomplish what you need by using a wrench as a hammer, but you wouldn’t want to do anything delicate with it. Actually the biggest group of dad-wizards = Uagadou (the school in Uganda where magic was invented but they don’t use wands)
