I bought sync pro and have sync for lemmy installed; there’s no way to activate pro right now, and afaik that option is not coming.
Presently you can buy a permanent ad removal in-app for $20, you can subscribe to sync ultra for $17/yr, or you can use it free with ads.
It’s a good app, and the dev absolutely deserves to make money. If I understand correctly, developing sync is his full-time job. The prices are definitely steeper than with sync for reddit, but Lemmy is a much smaller community. He can’t necessarily expect as many sales.
Afaik the least healthy part of that is the grain. Most breads, aside from a handful of micronutrients, are pretty close to empty calories. The killer with fast food is the soda and fries, usually.
What about protein? There’s a whole other macro you can use to make up for calories with if you cut out carbs. Eating near exclusively protein probably isn’t good for you, but you won’t starve. From what I’ve seen there can even be a lot of advantages to eating a little more protein, especially if you’re doing some strength training.
There were boobs at the red carpet for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You don’t really need a good argument to file a lawsuit. And Musk seems petty and short-sighted enough to try it.
I’m not particularly fond of either, so I’m gonna make some popcorn and hope this blows up into the biggest shit storm possible.
I think the big deal will be if it’s sustained. Losing a bunch of users for a month isn’t a big deal if they come back, or at least stop leaving. If Reddit loses 3% of its users every month for a year then things will be pretty dire for them.
Can’t say I’ve got much sympathy for Reddit, though.
And the joke is that Lemmy users are much further left than that.
