I like this kind of “use it or loose it” approach to IP. It talks about cost to the IP owners but if private servers are sourced to support continuity, then the cost to them is far less. Of course they will loose their revenue stream but if they were going to shut it down anyway then it is more about protecting the user base, which I fully support.


Absolutely. It’s not that it hasn’t been done before, it’s just that it shouldn’t be praised as accomplishment.


The actual statistic isn’t as important as knowing that every advancement the Chinese make in the future will be tainted by their prolific theft of IP.
