I think it’s the nature of conversation through posts. Nobody wants to see 300 “I agree” or “This one” flooding the boards.

I think most people don’t really feel like they need to add to the conversation unless it’s something that hasn’t already been in the conversation. Which usually conflicts with what they are responding to. A series of conflicts between two people that otherwise agree is going to create hostility between them.

It’s been almost three years since they killed my favorite app, and aside from the results that pop up when I’m searching for something, I haven’t really been back.

It’s certainly not as busy as Reddit, but generally it’s friendlier. (unless you support AI or fascists)

If Reddit was a packed nightclub, Lemmy would be the quaint coffee shop across the street. Not as crowded and less yelling.

Saying that Reddit is a shitty, unpredictable platform isn’t really a great argument to keep going back.

They got kicked out of that party for a reason. Now they’ve gone to someone else’s party asking how to sneak into the party they got kicked out of.

And here you are, complaining about our party, but not the party that keeps kicking people out.

Say you’re at a party, and the home owner asks you to leave. You are no longer welcome in their home. If you continue to try to sneak in through back doors and open windows, do you REALLY think that’s going to come across as dedication, or trespassing, harassment and stalking?

Give it up. They don’t want you, why do you insist on crashing a party you aren’t invited to?
