Today?? This is an issue, especially on the meme communities here.
And that’s the irony of the meme, isn’t it? I am guessing it was done by a man.

Shitty sexist meme.
How could they forget Pascal :/
It’s usually some rant about “brains are just probability machines as well” or “every artists learns from thousands of pictures of other artists, just as image generator xy does”.
I’ve often seen people on Lemmy confidently state that current “AI” thinks and learns exactly like humans and that LLMs work exactly like human brains, etc.
What is “too far” though? Is raising your children to follow specific religious rules already too far? Because I think it is, but many others think that’s okay. What about expecting your surroundings to accommodate your religion? At what point exactly is that going too far?
EA allows people to create games who normally wouldn’t have the money to do it.
I did have a smartphone, so I was able to look up several steps I could try. For example installing an experimental driver. In the end I had to install kubuntu and purge xfce, since they had a working driver in their library.
Since I had to type in all commands blindly the worst part was obviously wondering if I mistyped somewhere or if it just didn’t work. When I lost track I used the beep command to check if I was stuck.
Nooo I have so many… This one I can explain in English:
Xubuntu but blind
So, this is ~2016. Ubuntu is hip and a handful of my students use it. On my PCs I only use Debian and Suse. So to help them better I take out an old ASUS laptop and install Ubuntu on it. Try out Xubuntu instead.
At that time I was also huge into alternative keyboard layouts. I had a slightly modified Neo keyboard layout installed when I switched to Xubuntu.
Here the fun starts because the obscure internal graphics card built into the laptop didn’t have driver support under Xubuntu. Black screen but I could hear it working. This was the hardest driver fix I ever did. No monitor and a keyboard layout I wasn’t used to, under a Linux distro I wasn’t used to. And I also was at the university library, so no hardware support or Debian stick in reach.
Humans are Salad.
Unless they are still digesting, than they are often salad with croutons.
Flatbread yes. Most people I know either stuff their pita or fold it, so that would be a taco?
I love the small but powerful LED lights that can light up an entire room. Was able to impress a few people in just the right moment with those and always have one with me.
Could be. The only problem I see here is that it seems to imply everyone needs to finish higher education. And if they aren’t able to that, something is wrong with them.
Perhaps we should accept that not everyone can do higher education and focus on making it so, that it doesn’t matter.
Also, if it doesn’t affect all aspects of life (hobby, friends/family, job, school) it’s not ADHD.
If this is the pizza for 36 $ I feel pitty for humanity.
Someone, who probably works a shitty job that pays mostly for their rent, comes home way too tired and depressed to cook. Orders a pizza that looks absolutely underwhelming. For money that is equivalent for a month of food in another country.
That’s absolutely disgusting. Reminds me of these subreddits where men come together to discuss countries based on how traditional the women are + how desperate (so easier to get a wife) + how beneficial it would be to have a passport in that country. They talked about the women as if they were dog breeds.
You do realise that the models stole the art from people all over the world, yes? It’s not like someone in Indonesia drawing fan art can simply profit off their own work the way people like you now can.
I also think this attitude (“just get a job to support your hobby while I get to profit of your work”) shows an overall lack of respect for artists.
“Soul” is the word we use for something we don’t scientifically understand yet. Unless you did discover how human brains work, in that case I congratulate you on your Nobel prize.
You can abstract a complex concept so much it becomes wrong. And abstracting how the brain works to “it’s a probability machine” definitely is a wrong description. Especially when you want to use it as an argument of similarity to other probability machines.
Current models aren’t intelligent. Not even by the flimsy and unprecise definition of intelligence we currently have.
Wanted to post a whole rant but then saw vexikron already did so I spare you xD
Maybe because the goal of feminism is to have more equally not to bolster the ranks of marginalised people with even more women.
Maybe if men wanted to have more women in these jobs they shouldn’t be so fucking hostile and sometimes dangerous to women.
Maybe if men hadn’t built a society with only men in mind, including when designing equipment, procedures, etc., for these jobs, maybe women had a better chance doing them?
