Did I miss something recent?
You remind me of my favorite Keith Haring painting.
Wait till you hear what they think about construction workers!
Hard disagree, we do not survive as a species without intelligence. It has been the most important factor in our survival since we developed as a distinct group of hominids.
Surviving but reverting or regressing to a form that doesn’t not explore intelligence as a means of survival is the same as extinction in my book. Interestingly this reminds me of some of the fates in ‘All Tomorrows’
Do stuff and then die, or just die. Feels like a pretty easy choice to understand.
Some advice:
-in my experience the environments that facilitate dancing and those that facilitate deep philosophical discussion as a means of courtship are often mutually exclusive. Try finding some people to smoke some weed with instead or save the really deep conversations to situations where you’re already in an environment already conducive to that. Like over coffee or a drink at a quiet bar.
-please try some reflection on the kind of thinking that leads you to talk down about people because of their profession like that.
The alternative is extinction, plain and simple. The only reason we even are where we are as a species is due solely to the undying drive to seek more knowledge as a means of survival.
A couple hundred thousand years of continued existence as a species seems like a pretty decent accomplishment.
Wow I could have sworn that was Jason Bateman
Gotta love Chrissy!
Ding ding ding! The key is actually learning and growing from those bad experiences and bettering yourself as a result. A lot of people seem caught in the loop of searching for someone to make them better instead of looking for an actual partner.
As a 35+ would you rather be with someone who’s had bad experiences in relationships, or no experience in relationships?
mmmh good old orphan sources
And comment, and attached image. This joke works with just the tweet but apparently we need to kill the frog like 8 different ways.
There’s a reason cs50’s ai assistant/tutor is a duck :p
I don’t think that disagrees with my point. I simply think jokes are funnier the harder you work to get them. I too didn’t get it until seeing the arrow and label, but I would have found more enjoyment from a longer buildup and mental work to understand the joke than just having it served to me. Maybe I should add this context:
‘Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog. You understand how it works, but the frog dies.”
See, this is how to be that guy but actually be nice and helpful at the same time. Good on you
