What we are looking for that sets apart INTELLIGENCE is an ability to genuinely understand. LLMs don’t have that, any more than older autocorrects did.

It can acquire (learn) and use (access, output) data but it lacks the ability to understand it.

I suggest you sit down with an AI some time and put a few versions of the Trolley Problem to it. You will likely see what is missing.

I think you might know some really stupid or perhaps just uneducated people. I would expect 100% of people to know how many Rs there are in “strawberry” without looking at it.

I don’t think most people realize, Reddit itself silently removes a lot of comments and posts, and not all of them even show up in the mod queues for mods to review them.

It’s quite possible a Reddit AI removed your posts and no human even saw them.

I think you can understand something without embracing it or condoning it. I did a few bad things, it’s understandable that kids with that age and upbringing will, as long as you own what you did, put right what you can and atone for the rest, there’s no need to hate yourself.

They also appear to be developing a bit of a cult around the owner of Tildes which can feel a but offputting.

When I was there they were actually telling each other to govern their speech based on what they thought the creator (of Tildes) intended by various rules. He arbitrarily removes entire threads he doesn’t like so they are incentivised to care a lot about that.

It’s very inconvenient.

I don’t think it’s based on your contributions. My main account had over 600k comment karma when it was banned.

They are purging anti-corporate perspectives and anti-genocide perspectives, this is becoming clear. They now have a social credit system where they track accounts that upvote posts which are later removed.

They probably want to make the AI training data a bit more pro corporate and right wing.

Most of my accounts are banned or suspended now.
