  • At one point the same activity started ruining /r/animalsbeinggeniuses. Either utterly dumb users, or, more likely, botted accounts started spamming the sub with random animal photos/videos. Then, when I dared to point out that a sitting cat/dog isn’t just genius for simply being cute or by being able to jump far, I often got downvoted because bUt It’S sO cUtE, hOw CaN yOu HaTe CuTe AnImAlS.

I stopped following Reddit content more than a year ago, but I’m not too surprised to see that the same is happening everywhere else.

I’ve watched a video about this recently. The problem is, most detectors were based on X-rays in the past decades. Liquid explosives are pretty close to the density (and/or other properties) of water, and you can’t tell for sure whether there’s toothpaste or boom juice in that tube.

However, some airports started using expensive MRI MRI like X-ray* machines that can see stuff in more detail, plus, it lets you to make cross sections from different angles and therefore have a 3D model that you can rotate on your screen (it’s rather cool).

EDIT: I just realised someone else linked this, too. I would leave it here, it’s still educational.

  • My problem isn’t the timing of my waking up but the sleep to awake ratio which is completely out of sync with the 24 hour day. My ex woke up after 5 hours of sleep and was completely fine. I can either sleep less (than my ideal 9 hours) and become a zombie for most of the day, or sleep enough and end up going to bed super late, because I also don’t feel sleepy as early once I sleep enough. I’m just from a different planet where days are 28-30 hours long, and this place is just a constant fight with being sleepy and having to wake up before I feel properly rested.
