21·12 days agoI literally say that circumcision is bad but a completely different issue. You’re no better than someone screaming “men get raped too” when discussing the sexual assault cases of women. Its a separate thing completely and you trying to crowbar it into this conversation just shows you want to discredit the current topic. Shameful behavior.

World News@lemmy.world•UN: 4.5 million girls at risk of genital mutilation in 2026English
42·12 days agoOne is objectively demonstrably worse. I’m not going to an anti circumcision post and saying “hey what about female genital mutilation” as is happening here. For what goal I’d add? I can’t see an objective aside from attempting to diminish the suffering being discussed. Obscuring the issue by conflating it with a completely different thing is wrong.

133·12 days agoMods removed my former reply so I’ll just say, read or look into “desert flower”, “seven” or “stitch”. If you think circumcision is tantamount to cutting a clit off, cauterizing large sections, or sewing the vagina semi-permanently shut. This is all typically as young girls not as babies. The trauma experienced cements the way they see the world values them. CIRCUMCISION IS BAD, IT IS NOT THE SAME THING.

World News@lemmy.world•Fossil Fuel Subsidies Are Leading the US and EU Into Industrial DeclineEnglish
37·1 month agoStrange they don’t include all the brand new coal plants China is building along side their renewables. Having a cleaner (gas)fossil fuel backup isn’t a bad thing, having the most filthy possible backup is. I hate that the USA burns as much coal as it does too. Although, USA is number 2 in new renewables and total renewable production, without new coal plants. Unfortunately, I don’t see this bullshit administration growing that renewables number to rival China. Unless your country has zero economic capabilities, you should not burn coal for electricity period. I’ve got a lot of interest in this new CO2 battery tech, I see it being a major key in 100% renewables that can handle fluctuations.

3·2 months agoAre you saying that if there was a thermal battery in neighborhood you wouldnt need pumps? You know how a fucking thermal battery works? You realize most of the central heating systems you’re talking about heated the water by using coal plants to send super heated steam to them right? Where did you think that hot water came from? You’re an idiot and people like you are part of the reason this goes so slow.

4·2 months agoOh, I understand now, you live in a pretend world of idealistic ignorance. Thats not now ebs and flows of energy demand work. You shouldn’t participate in a conversation if you 1. Don’t understand realisticly how the subject works 2. Are so biased against the reality of the situation you make completely insane attempts to justify your ideas.
