“better” is definitely subjective. I use an iPod touch that I leave plugged in my car that I have 17k songs on. It’s so nice to just have something that always resumes where I left off and just works. No subscriptions, no data. I can go on long road trips and not worry about spotty coverage. And best of all, I actually own all the media that’s on it. And my phone texts don’t keep interrupting my music all the tiime


Serious question. I have been using the free version of plex for years and been happy with it. I have no desire for remote access and I never consume media on my phone. I just use it to watch TV shows and movies in my living room. I don’t want anything more from it so I’m fine with the free version. Is there anything else I’m missing out on my not using jellyfin? I’ve considered it but to me it doesn’t seem to be worth the effort to switch if I’m happy with the free Plex. But I’m willing to have my mind changed

The easiest way to avoid ads is use an android streamer (I use the Google tv streamer) and install projectivity launcher. You get the cleanest UI that’s fully customizable with only what you want to see. I also installed a button remapper app to change the netflix button on my remote to open Plex. It’s a very easy stress-free experience using my tv
