Congress is majority far right. People think the President is a King, he is not. Lulas’s party in Brazil is responsible for lifting millions from extreme poverty, twice, because the far right managed to shove millions back in the short 6 years of their government. Brazil is a country built on top of inequality, slavery ended here much later, and it was far more rampant. On top of slavery, the colonial oligarchs here have taken firm hold of the country for centuries, and are holding tight, unwilling to let it go. The 2016 coup was entirely a project by such Oligarchs to return Brazil to its state of colony, but now of the USA. If it wasn’t Lula’s party, Brazil today would be in the same state as Argentina.
