I see them in medical environments sometimes. Occasionally simpler than finding some compatible network method that complies with all the privacy requirements to just send screaming screeches direct point to point.
I see them a bunch on that environment. There isn’t a day I don’t hear “We’ll fax the orders to [ insert lab name]” or “tell your doctor’s office to fax us the referral again” or some variation of that.
Thinking about it makes sense from a privacy and security perspective, like you say.
