    How… do you launch those?

I can only think of smashing it with hammer but PugJesus wouldn’t suggest something like that to a pug?

Would not matter anyway. From what I learned, guns actually require the barrel to direct the force of the propellant forward, pushing it against the projectile, like a pressure tube. Without it, the projectile would just flop out while most of the force just vanishes as it expands out to the sides.

That kinda makes sense, but the initial explosion of the gun powder will still accelerate the bullet to potentially dangerous speeds

          dangerous speeds

Way more dangerous to whoever is hammering them than to whoever is several meters away in front of it.

Maybe its supposed to be the beetle that shoots acidic/high temperature liquid out if its rear?

      https://news.mit.edu/2015/how-bombardier-beetles-produce-defensive-spray-0430

Maybe this could possibly set off the rounds?

Not sure what temp this stuff burns at, but it seems highly unlikely it would be hot enough to set off the primer, or that the beetle could produce enough of it to sufficiently coat the rounds to have this effect.

Also, if this somehow did cause the cartridges to fire/cook off… pretty sure that would kill the beetle anyway.
