    I’m sure reddit algos would have made it into something in the absence of any contributions.

    Also remember that most people did not migrate to lemmy. Just us nerds, so far. At least from what I can tell.

        Which is why I love this place! It’s like reddit at the beginning. Can’t wait for sync for lemmy to completely migrate, atm I’m too lazy to go through the hassle

      Yeah, everyone here acts like reddit is going down. Im assuming Reddit barely registered that any users left. If you go check out r/all nothing has changed.

        Nothing has changed in the sense that the site is still there and people are posting, yea. But ever since the blackouts I noticed a decline in average post quality, more posts from fringe subs making it to r/all, more lazy reposts, etc.

        To be clear, I’m sure Reddit will be around for a long time. But I don’t think it’s fair to say nothing has changed. Kinda gotta read between the lines a little.

        My impression is that a large part of the user base knows about the controversy and likes to complain about it, but leaving is never, ever crossing their minds. The controversy is part of the flavor and texture of Reddit.
