Thanks to @unionagainstdhmo@aussie.zone we are able to restart scheduled posts, be they daily threads or other. I’m curious to know if anyone has any preferences. A couple of things to keep in mind: a) we scheduled a weekly thread once and it was a resounding failure; b) It’s possible the issue(s) with federation may mean less people will see the posts (correct me if I’m wrong) and therefore they might not be so useful until the issue(s) are fixed (again, correct me if I’m wrong).
I’m a daily thread fan, even if nobody posts in them.
Just realised why I’m a fan of daily threads.
There was something that I thought would be good to share, but it’s not worthy of it’s own thread. So, I won’t bother posting it.
Not the first time it’s happened…
Anyways, probably doesn’t matter. I think I’m talking to myself and 1 or 2 others at most lol
Hi @No1@aussie.zone, @thisisdee@lemmy.world and @ajsadauskas@aus.social! How about we give the weekly another go then? @No1@aussie.zone will still be able to post things that aren’t worthy of their own threads. If that sounds OK then what is the best day to post it? Do we want a creative title? The titles used to be like ‘Daily Discussion Thread - Sat Dec 16 2023’ but if someone comes up with something a bit snazzier I’ll see if I can work it in.
Let’s do it! I’m not a creative person so it would be better for someone else to come up with fun titles haha.
As far as timing goes, I reckon Monday morning is good? Start the week with a new thread.
Awesome. Monday it is for now. That gives @No1@aussie.zone and @ajsadauskas@aus.social time to chime in on how that works for them with maybe enough left over to come up with a banger of a thread title.
I’d prefer a weekly thread rather than daily. Keeping it up for longer would encourage more replies (I hope) from people who don’t check Lemmy every day
@thisisdee @maniacalmanicmania Agree with weekly threads idea.
The added bonus is that there’s more time to get a real conversation going.
