From what I’ve heard, various mods were literally forcibly removed from their position and the mod having a temper tantrum basically ended up trying to loop them into his delusions. Assuming it’s true, sounds like this person wanted to take down as many people as they could with them in some petty game.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Which of the two would you purchase for someone who’s not so technical?
2·7 days agoIf you want any games for switch to work as intended, without a bunch of lag or any major fiddling to get that one specific game to work, switch/2 is sadly the only way to go.
As for the deck route, absolutely depends on various things. Is she okay with piracy and will she know? Do y’all plan on using it just for switch emulation or are there other games on other consoles/Steam/other storefronts that are gonna be emulated/installed? If yes to questions like that, deck would be the way to go. More bang for your buck due to not being limited to a single games ecosystem.
Also, another thing to think about, is that there are current, IIRC, Zer0 switch 2 emulators that can do much of anything, so you’d have to emulate the switch 1 version of games on something like Ryubing Ryujinx. Do you wanna wait for a switch 2 emulator that might not be able to run that less popular title you like because they’re focusing on the big triple AAA titles? Good to keep this in mind, IMO.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Valve says the Steam Machine is better than what 70% of PC gamers have at homeEnglish
3·12 days agoI can, without even knowing every component in it, say that their statement is true for me. Steam Machine would probably run laps upon laps around my desktop and do better than my laptop.
If it can handle PS3 emulation without major struggle just working or turning into a space heater, it’ll absolutely be an upgrade.

Technology@beehaw.org•The ‘Great Meme Reset’ Is Coming: From Jack Dorsey to Gen Alpha, everyone seemingly wants to go back to the internet of a decade ago. But is it possible to reverse AI slop and brain rot?
6·14 days agoI mean, a temporary reset is possible, but nobody, myself included, wants that because it would involve destroying every single digital storage device and completely wiping away everything.
All we’d have is the memory of brainrot and AI… until everuthingngets rebuilt and status quo returns to normal.

3·18 days agoI just started solo playing Toon Town Rewritten this weekend. Not a big social person, but still love the fighting cogs and mini games. Don’t remember how long I even played it back in the day, but I’m giving it a shot and nkt regretting it so far.
Maze Mice and Slay The Spire are just about the only other games I’ve been really focusing on outside of PvZ Reflourished on my phone.
I don’t think I remember my family having anything like those, but 7 looks like familiar and a little nostalgic in a way it shouldn’t.
I’ve never seen it, but I absolutely got the reference for once.

1·25 days agoOkay, so, I got a copy of Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast and played a little last night and I was super excited. I broke my personal rule of not buying Japanese games straight from Japan because the eBay price was real cheap. If I had a cap for my VMU and was sure the thing worked when batteries are in, I would absolutely have a Chao with me on the go, probably a day I know the odds of me losing my VMU or damaging it was low.
I also have been enjoying a pokemon fan game called Pokemon Berilo. It’s a fan game in Spanish that has an ENG translation version. Currently a demo build but might be lengthy. I’ve played for a few hours and am basically just getting to gym 1 because I have been so busy with side quests and catching things. I love it because they have a custom pause menu UI and that’s so much nicer than the maybe 2 defaults people use for their games.
I’ll have to look up how to do that cookie autodelete thing because I clearly never thought of anything like that. Thanks for the idea.
I hope this is a joke, because it’s the most useful search engine I have ever used in the past decade.
Cannot speak for anyone else, but I have been having problems with my preferred SearXNG instances returning garbage results that have nothing to do with what I searched. Before anyone asks, no I am unable to self-host my own personal instance and don’t feel like changing settings every time I close and reopen my browser.
Can’t tell whether this is satire or not, but it’s kinda funny either way.

20·2 months agoOkay, but when can the law straight up ban companies who don’t comply with the law from operating in the state instead of just slapping them on the wrist and telling them “no” the same way a pushover parent tells their child “no”. Especially after they just ignore the law.

1·2 months agoSlay the Spire and Cloverpit have been 2 games taking up majority of my time when gaming. Followed by Maze Mice and the Project Diva game on Steam to a much lesser extent.
Though I just got a copy of the first 3 Jak and Daxter games on PS2, so good chance I might replay the first game this weekend.
I just started the demo to the Pokemon Shard fan game. It’s looks pretty nice and plays nice as well.
I also just started playing the Dungeon Clawler beta update with the new fire character. So far, fire is a weak debuff that I could never see myself playing with intentionally.
Also just went through and got the last ducks I needed to unlock the credits level of Fling To The Finish and I think it’s clever to make the end credits a playable level that doesn’t feel out of place.
Otherwise, I have made some progress on Toon Town Rewritten. Slowly slogging and grinding my way through.
